Kia's Spanking New 2018 Rio

The compact car has become a new mainstay in the car industry, and the Kia Rio offers a stacked deck of impressive fuel efficiency, innovative technology, and advanced safety features. The Rio is a fun to drive compact with an endearing fascia and a bold personality, and would be a perfect choice for students, value-conscious consumers, or really anyone looking for a fun and efficient daily driver.

Available in three trims – LX, S and EX – the all-new 2018 Rio is powered by a carryover but enhanced Gamma 1.6-liter GDI four-cylinder engine, targeting improved fuel efficiency, better responsiveness and low-speed driving dynamics.

The latest iteration of Kias ‘tiger nose’ blends smoothly into the Rios newly designed headlights that are now swept back to take a more prominent stance. The rest of the exterior is defined by sharp, geometric lines and smooth surfaces. The interior has also been redesigned, and now offers more space and upgraded materials that are more plush and aesthetic. The front seats now feature a slimmer design, which contribute to the Rio’s improved interior space.

For 2018, the Rio gets a new 7-inch UVO3 infotainment floating touchscreen with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The touchscreen unit is not embedded into the dash but sits by itself above the dash, and the climate control knobs now sit below the touchscreen.

Advanced safety features come standard in the 2018 Rio. Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, and Hill-Start Assist Control all assist in building confidence behind the wheel and taking control of the road, no sweat.

Kia Stonic

Amongst the buzz of the plethora of new compact SUV releases set for 2017, you may have heard the name ‘Kia Stonic’ thrown around here and there. This concept is set to be released later this year, and yet Kia has managed to maintain a decent amount of mystery over whether any developments have or have not materialized past the initial concept. This is particularly intriguing, since the last peak of this concept remains very concept-y- with blatantly dramatic exterior styling and minimal insight into the inner mechanics. The Kia Stonic is teeing up to be a big surprise. With all of the manufacturers joining the petite SUV trend, we are intrigued to see how Kia’s Stonic distinguishes itself from the competition.

Even more mysterious than the enigmatic car itself, is the unique name bestowed upon it. ‘Stonic’ is a neat portmanteau that Nissan got from the first and last notes in the musical scale, as well as the word sonic. Stonic is keyed to suggest that the Stonic will be new, fresh and agile.

Kia says that the Stonic is set to be the “most customizable Kia ever”. We’re expecting a lot of personalization and more flexibility with desired features amongst trim levels and packages. This could potentially be a killer move by Kia, as most people have a very specific set of wants and needs and a hyper-customizable vehicle has yet to be introduced to the market.

Check back in with us for more updates on Kias new Stonic. You can expect to see these begin to appear in our inventory as soon as theyre released!

Kia Recall

Kia has issued a vast recall and is making plans to inspect and possibly replace up to 1.3 million vehicles. Affected vehicles include the Optima, Sorento, and Sportage that are equipped with Hyundai's 2.0 and 2.4 L “Theta” four cylinder engines. The recall spans across Kia's that were built in Hyundai's plant in Montgomery, Alabama between 2011 and 2014.

Thus far, approximately 10 percent to 20 percent of said vehicles have reported engine stalls. The issue can contribute to a loud knocking noise in addition to a loss of power. If the check engine light or engine oil pressure lights illuminate unexpectedly, be particularly aware of any issues or noises coming from the engine, as it could be an indication of a faulty engine.

If your vehicle is liable to be included in the recall, it’s important to take preventative measures to ensure the safety of your family and others on the road. This link can send you to Kia's ‘Safety Recalls’ page, where you can enter your VIN number to find out if your vehicle is subject to recall, and if it is, can direct you to your free service before you run into a problem on the road.

Thank you for reading and most importantly, be safe!

2017 Kia Sorento

The Kia Sorento was given a major redesign last year; hence we primarily see minor detail upgrades and subtle design enhancements throughout the body for 2017. The snubbiness of the front fascia (lessened a bit this year due to the slight body stretch) is nicely highlighted by Kia’s distinctive tiger nose. The lengthened body looks sleeker and more aerodynamic than last years rendition and offers more interior space.

Available Nappa leather and well cushioned 14-way adjustable seats offer a comfortable, classy environment. The 2017 Sorento can be had with seating for five or seven. Kia has a solid reputation for interiors that feel more luxurious than you'd think, and this SUV in particular greatly benefits from its modish dash and interior design. Now, the cargo space behind the third row may seem limited considering how much bigger the Sorento is; but the seats easily fold down and offer plenty of room for larger items, and the hidden rear subfloor further increases the spaciousness.

The 2017 Sorento is available in four main trims, plus derivatives. As one would expect, the base model is quite the value; equipped with keyless entry, cruise control, stain-resistant cloth upholstery and basic AM/FM/CD audio system with Bluetooth connectivity and a USB input. The LX model however offers the most bang for your buck, adding a rearview camera, sound-deadening windshield, touch-screen audio display, and the ability to add more amenities via packages and the option of all-wheel drive. The Sorento's standard safety features include airbags all around and a slew of traction and stability-control systems.

The 2017 Sorento offers an automatic transmission coupled with its standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. This pair produces 185 horsepower, and is capable of towing up to 2,000 pounds. Other available engines include a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 240 horsepower and the most potent of the available engines- a 3.3-liter V6 that puts out 290 horsepower.

The 2017 Kia Sorento starts with a MSRP just over $26,000, but the $27,599 LX model is worth the extra money thanks to additional features and available options, and that's still lower than many SUV competitors currently in the market. Schedule a test drive with us here or sign up to receive additional information on the new Sorento.

The 2017 Kia K900

Kias 2017 K900 bestows palpable luxury within its cavernous 5 passenger cabin; enriched with genuine high quality materials and plentiful amenities and technology features that supply a sumptuous cabin experience. The K900 originates from Sohari, South Korea, and it’s not uncommon to see Korean executives using this sedan as a cozy little nest- and it’s quite clear to see why. The seats boast plenty of legroom and even offer a reclining function. Further comfort comes via sunshades and universal climate control for front and rear passengers.

One of the K900’s most prominent novelties within the luxury class is its supreme value. The K900 starts off way below the price of its competitors and offers a slew of features and amenities- standard. Standard features in the 2017 Kia K900 include a 9.2-inch display screen, the UVO infotainment system with voice recognition, navigation, HD Radio, three USB ports, Bluetooth, a 14-speaker audio system, satellite radio, front and rearview cameras, front and rear parking sensors, a proximity key, push-button start, tri-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and adaptive headlights.

The 2017 Kia K900 is available with a 311-horsepower 3.8-liter V-6 or a 420-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 engine. Each mates to an 8-speed automatic transmission with shift paddles on the steering wheel. The responsiveness of either engine can be set by the driver into Normal, Sport, Eco and Snow modes.

The K900 has many active safety features available this year, including automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, and lane change assist. With the multitude of overall features provided in this luxury sedan, it could feasibly be priced alongside its pricier competitors, yet the MSRP starts at just $49,900. 2017 Kia Forte

The 2017 Kia Forte sports a redesigned fascia with new adaptive xenon headlights and distinctive new styling. New Perimeter Approach Lighting and Door Handle Pocket Lights illuminate when you return to your vehicle for easy entering. The new Forte also offers more technology and active safety features on their standard models, enhancing the overall value of the entry level vehicle.

The sections of the dashboard and center console directly around the front seat have all been given a slight twist, as if to wholly encircle the driver with the controls. The controls are not only pointed directly at you, but the majority of the controls rest on the steering wheel, enabling quick selections that can be quickly memorized. All of the Fortes trim levels are generously equipped for their price. The Forte LX models have included keyless entry, air conditioning, power windows and locks, a rearview camera, steering-wheel audio controls and Bluetooth audio. The 2017 Forte EX gets newly standard heated (in front) leather seats, dual-zone climate control, rear vents, and push-button start.

The LX model is powered by a 2.0 L 4 cylinder engine that generates 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. The LX comes standard with a 6 speed manual transmission with the option of the automatic, whilst the rest come standard with an automatic. The EPA is rated at 29 mpg in the city and 38 on the highway.

The Fortes overall NHTSA score is now up to the highest level of 5 stars for the first time after a needed structural refit last year. The Forte now gets additional active safety features as well; such as forward-collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitors, and rear-cross traffic alert. As well as the usual roster of airbags and stability systems, the Forte also now includes four-wheel disc brakes.

Compact cars don’t usually make their name by boasting paramount technology and features, but the new Kia Forte is paving its own path to victory this year. The hefty addition to the safety and connectivity lineup paired with the feasible starting price of $17k make the 2017 Forte a fierce competitor in the compact car market. You can schedule a test drive or get updates/information on the new Forte from our site- here.

2017 Kia Sportage

The Kia Sportage is a notable SUV in the market known for its value and practicality. The recent release of the new Sportage retains the value that draws in its key demographic, whilst broadening its appeal by adding some more advanced technology and enhancing the standard equipment.
The famous Kia tiger nose design, fashioned by Peter Schreyer, is still comprehensively used in new model designs. The ever- iconic grille has been slightly raised to allow room for the new ice cube fog lamps and body sweeping headlights.  The outer pillars have been thinned for better visibility and a more open cabin interior.

The body of the Sportage has been lightened and stiffened, and has been given a retuned suspension and engine tuning. With either option of front or all wheel drive, the 2.4 L inline 4 cylinder engine produces 181 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. There are now three driving modes; Eco, Normal, and Sport, that allow for optimum control over the cars fuel efficiency, suspension and throttle.

The 7.0- and 8.0-inch infotainment systems include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and UVO eServices telematics services. Kia is consistently mindful of catering to frugal types, as the brand’s EVO eServices telematics systems are app-based and rely on your smartphone’s data connection—rather than on a separate subscription. All models offer a choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, and all include power windows and mirrors, a rear wiper and defroster, air conditioning with rear vents, remote keyless entry, a rear camera system, and Bluetooth hands-free calling.

The 2017 Sportage has been given a plethora of updates, is sharply outfitted inside and out, and it boasts more advanced technology and amenities than previous models. The Sportage is known for receiving high safety test ratings as well, and has clearly been aptly outfitted for a family lifestyle. For more information or updates on the new 2017 Sportage, we will happily oblige you at our site
