Kia Racing Takes to the Track Twice in Two Weeks for Pirelli World Challenge Action

Kia Racing takes to the track this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, as  teammates Mark Wilkins (No. 38 B.R.A.K.E.S. Optima) and Ben Clucas (No. 36 DonorsChoose.org Optima) continue to pursue last year’s championship-winning success.  Just over halfway through the 2015 Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) season, Kia Racing has claimed five podium finishes following back-to-back top-three results in rounds nine and 10 at Road America, and Kia currently sits third in the Grand Touring Sport (GTS) Manufacturer Championship ahead of rivals Nissan, Chevrolet and Porsche.

Kinetic Motorsports’ privately entered Forte Koups will visit Mid-Ohio in two weeks for the next three rounds of the Touring Car A (TCA) class season.  Defending 2014 PWC TCA Driver Champion and Rookie of the Year – and Ohio native – Jason Wolfe is no stranger to Mid-Ohio, having logged countless laps on the circuit both as a driving instructor and a racer.  Wolfe’s performance last season also earned Kia the TCA Manufacturer Championship.

Kia continues to prove its quality, reliability and durability on the race track after every Kia model that competed in 2014 won a National Championship in its respective class:  Optima, Forte Koup, and Rio 5-door.  The Optimas and Koups will chase valuable championship points at during two separate weekends at Mid-Ohio, while defending Sports Car Club America (SCCA) B-Spec National Champion Kyle Keenan in his No. 44 Kia Rio 5-door will aim for a repeat as national champion at the 2015 SCCA Runoffs in October at Daytona International Speedway.
